About Holsoma

Connection, creativity and calm, in one place by the sea.

The story behind Holsoma

Holsoma takes its name from the Greek words holos and soma, meaning whole and body. It reflects a simple idea: that feeling well isn't about just one part of us.

We need movement and rest, creativity and play, meaningful connection with other people and time spent connected to the natural world. Holsoma brings these different strands together under one roof, creating a place where you can explore what supports you.

The idea grew from founder Aggy's own experience of burnout while working in a desk-based job. She began running macramé workshops in Bristol and discovered how powerful it could be to make something with your hands and spend time with other people.

Since then, she has Aggy has expanded her facilitation practice across movement, relaxation, and connection practices, while bringing together other practitioners and facilitators with their own skills and approaches. Holsoma grew from that journey: one space with many different ways to move, rest, create and connect.

What we're here for

Connection

We all need to feel that we belong. Holsoma creates opportunities to spend meaningful time with other people, make new connections and build community in a world that can often feel increasingly isolated.

Connection also reaches beyond people. Through seasonal gatherings, ecotherapy and time in nature, we create opportunities to reconnect with the natural world we're part of.

Creativity

Creativity keeps us curious. It can mean learning a new craft, making something with your hands, experimenting with movement or simply giving yourself permission to play.

Our workshops and classes are a chance to try things, learn new skills and find your own way of creating, without needing to be particularly “good” at any of it.

Calm

Rest matters, but modern life doesn't always leave much room for it.

Holsoma creates space to slow down, soften the pace and give your mind and body some time away from the constant doing. Through sound, gentle practices and quieter moments, it's a place to rest and come back to yourself.
